Year One
This will be a short post, since I am sick and exhausted (both due to being sick, and the neighbors across the street having started chopping down trees in their yard with a chainsaw just before 9am. It is now 2:30pm and they are STILL GOING), but I wanted to acknowledge something anyway.
Yesterday marked one year since I made my first post here. Happy birthday, blog!
A lot of stuff has happened in that last year. Corwyn started in on his thesis work, marking one theoretical year until he graduates from SCAD and we can start making a life for ourselves in earnest; I started this blog and my Secret Project, which is my way of finding out if what I think I want to do for a living is actually what I want to do for a living (so far… yes, though it is incredibly daunting to consider a project larger than the one I have). Lots of games, lots of shows, lots of drawings. Lost a cat. Lost an aunt. Made a ton of new friends; saw one launch a game on Steam to genuinely ridiculous success. Started to realize just how different I am from some of my family, which is both terrifying and good.
I’m not sure what 2011 will bring, aside from more of the same — but “the same” has been, for the most part, pretty okay. I think I could stand to have some more of it.
